DePaul will close its Loop Campus from Friday, May 18 through Monday, May 21 during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit. Students and employees will not have access to offices, labs or classrooms in the Loop on these days. The Loop Campus is scheduled to reopen and regular classes are to resume on Tuesday, May 22.
Classes at DePaul’s Lincoln Park, O’Hare and suburban campuses will maintain normal business operations on those days. Students or prospective students can access DePaul student services, such as financial aid information or student records, at DePaul Central, located on the Lincoln Park Campus in the Schmitt Academic Center, 2320 N. Kenmore Ave.
Faculty scheduled to teach in the Loop on any of those days are encouraged to make alternative arrangements for affected class periods. Descriptions of the available options can be found on The Teaching Commons, DePaul’s central online teaching resource.
Students with classes in the Loop on those days should check with faculty about alternative plans.
Loop employees who are normally scheduled to work on those days will receive their normal pay. Administrative or academic officers will determine which positions are essential to ensure ongoing support to our students. For these rare positions, administrative or academic officers will determine whether those jobs can be appropriately accomplished under an alternative work arrangement. Loop employees who are instructed to stay at home should not come to work.
