Guidelines for Applause
-
Items focus on significant accomplishments or distinctions, preferably national, for faculty or staff members. Examples considered include publication of a new book, an award from an external association, appointment on a notable board or prominent mention in a media outlet. The delivery of a keynote or major address at a national conference would also merit consideration.
-
Individuals are limited to three mentions per year.
-
Newsline does not normally publish news of routine paper presentations, but may for faculty or staff who have not appeared in Newsline in the past 12 months.
-
This column only appears when there are at least three items. If less than that, items are held until more items become available.
Guidelines for DeBriefs
-
Items are informative nuggets of news conveying information relevant to faculty and staff. Examples could include a major new grant (above $100,000), an event that is significant and university-wide, a new university policy, new construction or remodeling, technology upgrade or an external award given to a DePaul organization.
