The Radio DePaul team has been contacted by “Filter” magazine on behalf of the American Eagle Outfitters chain of clothing stores. The magazine has invited Radio DePaul to create a music playlist to be played in the 1,000 American Eagle Outfitters stores in North America.
Student-run Radio DePaul was voted best radio station in the country in 2010 by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System – in addition to eight other top awards – and received four 2011 IBS awards for best newscast, best radio play, best show promo and best community news.
"The station and the university will be getting a ton of free promotion from this," says Scott Vyverman, a College of Communications faculty member and Radio DePaul's operations manager. "We weren't the first station to be asked, but we will be joining great company, such as Boston University, Georgetown, Notre Dame and UCLA."
